Ebook Affiliate Programs

I’ve covered some of the basics of starting to write your own ebooks, but this blog is also about making money from ebooks too. The good news is that this is not just limited to your own ebooks you can also freely promote other peoples ebooks and earn commissions. Ebook affiliate programs allow you to select a particular ebook and then go about the web trying to find people interested in buying such a book.

In this post I will show you one of the best places to find ebook affiliate programs to promote, and if you really like using this site the good news is that once you are done with your ebook you can have it listed for other affiliates to promote too.

Clickbank Ebook Affiliate Programs

The site I will be telling you about today is called Clickbank, Clickbank is a fast and easy way to find great affiliate programs and can be found by visiting www.clickbank.com.

Once you hit the Clickbank homepage all you need to do is sign up for a free account to get promoting your ebooks. The sign up process is very simple and quick and will not take you a long time. Once you have finished with your account creation you should now be ready to search for some ebook affiliate programs.

Clickbank Marketplace

The Clickbank marketplace is where all the action happens, to get into the marketplace all you need to do is look toward the top of the clickbank site, you should see this ->

From this search box we can browse through all the products that are available for us to promote, but we also have a handy search box[KEYWORDS] in which we need to enter a topic that we would be interested in finding ebook affiliate programs for. What I decided upon for this post was to look for ebooks all about “pets”, so I entered my keyword into the search box like so. ->

Clickbank will now display a huge list of all the ebook affiliate programs related to my keyword of “pets”, this is a long list of products to promote but the list starts with the bestselling listed first, so you get an idea of what people seem to be buying already. Here is the list I got back from my search. ->

Now this list is just the first 5 listings, in fact the results I got back had hundreds of options to choose from. I cant go into all the stats under each one of the listings as this would take a book in itself, but Clickbank do all this explaining for you in the FAQ section on their site which is a very interesting read if you want to find out more.

I just looked through the listings to see if I saw anything that was related to pets and interested me to select as an affiliate program. As the owner of two cats I decided to go with listing #2 Kingdom Of Pets – Complete Cat Training, this would be fun?;).

When you find your ebook affiliate program you should click on “View Pitch Page” to find out what its all about, as well as to see if it is in fact an ebook product which is usually the case with Clickbank. Now all you have to do is click the “Create Hoplink” to grab the code that will point people to that ebook sales page via your affiliate link, basically meaning if they then make a purchase from this point it will be tracked from your link, and you will earn a nice commission for your trouble. ->

Enter your Clickbank nickname that you used when you registered for the site, and the Tracking ID is optional but its a great way to track where a sale came from. For example I entered Email 23 as an example, meaning that if I was to send out a series of emails promoting this Cat Training ebook, if someone bought this product from reading one of the emails this Tracking ID would tell me that it was the 23rd email I sent that made this sale possible.

When using tracking keywords you get to see what works best, so if I know 10 people bought this product from this one email then obviously their is something in that email that works really well, now all I have to do is reuse it for blog posts and maybe articles and hope for the same results.;)

Anyway once we are done hit the “Create” button to grab your links. ->

These are your affiliate links with your Clickbank ID added, you should copy these and save them somewhere so you can easily grab them anytime you want to promote this product.

Its always a good idea to paste that http address into the browser just to make sure everything is working well, to check this once you are on the product page navigate you way to the cart/checkout page to make sure you see your affiliate ID at the bottom of this page. You should see something like [Affiliate = YOURCLICKBANKID], if so then everything is working as it should be.

Now you are all done and ready to promote your ebook affiliate programs anyway you want, you could use blog posts, tweets, articles anything you can think of. However dont be spammy about it, you want to make a good name for yourself so hopefully people will like and trust you, and then want to buy products that you review.
